so garmini had to be reset

i guess most of the stuff is on the garmin connect site ..but had to do a system reset...the poot hing got loaded up with all the crap runs i ve done...but now i ready to goal set and use the garmin training software...not got my bike kit set yet..and the foot pod is also running on low battery ..got to get all that going ...yup this week

got a half an hour on the stationary cycle again

this time it was not a zone 2 but a high zone 4 ,5 workout..i ve noticed i start sweating just between zone 3 and zone 4 ...and i zone in after staying for three to four minutes in zone 4 ...

well got 8 mile on 35 minutes....not bad...with some high intensity stuff...cos i raised the level to ten at one point ..only to pull back to five ..but really worked those thigh muscles today ..cheers for another work out...hip hip hurrah

did a zone 2 workout

cycled for an hour...tried to maintain the heart rate in zone 2 ..not exerting too much ..managed to maintain a cadence between 85 and 100...with level 1 stress on the machine....divided the whole hour into three twenty minute sessions ...this helped alot to keep me focussed....had a coke zero at 45 th minute...helped me get through my run better...

so cycling stats 60 min 14 mile zone 2

topped this up with a 2 mile run ..again slow and steady took 30 minutes..

funny enough today ..both the cycling and running ..figures were in round figures..if you know what i mean ...perfect 14 miles for the cycling and 2 miles for the running ...

managed to swim 900 m

swam after a long time...funny ...when i entered the pool yesterday it almost felt like i am not meant for the water...my left wrist felt floppy ..the legs were not moving ..3-4 laps later i opened up a bit..then did 4 continuos laps ...felt much better..did some one ways...and then some pigeon stroke..ones....finally did three really fast 50 m swims..one was dead fast ..i was breathing on every fourth stroke..and iit felt like i am running throught he water...i was swimming to music too...sweet child of mine...worked just well enough...musci does distract u a bit .....topped off with a cool down swim another 100m ...all in all i think it was a 900 m swim ..but really broken up ..not liek the continous ones i did a couple of weeks back ..i think i have to be more serious with the swimming..as in today in the afternoon ..sit and make my gym calendar for the month ..and then stick by it...lets see...where i go with it...

So I plan a swim ..a full 1.1.k with no limitations of time..and probable try my h20 gear today too..lets see...

managed to do a 45 minute bike indoor bike ride..45 min 11.65 km mile...4 min cool down

so got up at 5 ....thats cos i slept at six in the evening ..a straight eleven hour nap...wow...either way

did a 11.65 mile in 49 minutes...not bad...easy exertion level...worked on the scrape the foot pedalling...feeling decent now..no major issues...will try to catch a swim ...if my wife permits.hihi

not done much over the weekend and feeling guilty

so thats how training goes to the dogs..the last post is on the 18th and thats the last time i burnt some calo..puppies....nothing ..absolutely nothing for the last five days...need to do somthing today ..now that Rita the new maid is in attendance...i shall swim to my hearts content ..without feeling rushed to come home by seven ...

cheers for the new maid..hope i get more time to exersize now...

today it will be a 1100 m swim ..followed by a bike ride tomorrow morning....

10.67 miles in 45 minutes ...11.67 miles in 50 minutes..

Got up at 530 ...gave in what was due...an early morning bike ride...kept the resistance level low...infact no resistance for most of the ride...

couldnt capture it on my garmin cos the garmin kit was in the car...

tomorrow is a big day...another seven hour surgery ...cant figure out where to schedule the training...thursday is a long day with an ealy start...AO meeting in Dubai..so probably the next long session is going to be on the weekend...friday and saturday ...i think i should do a baby tri this weekend...if its not too hot..that is...

rest day

nothing much ..but plan to do an early morning cycle thingy tomorrow...lets see how it goes

Indoor Brick ...16.6 miles of cycling and 2 mile run

So yesterday I broke my own record.Probably because of all the calories I consumed over the weekend.Guilt was burning me .

Hit the stationary cycle and did a 16.6 miles in 45 minutes...thats not bad..was sweating like a pig...Armen van beuren trance music blasting my head....
went straight off the bike to run a 2 miler..in 26min..

all in all put in an hour eleven minutes of great cardio ..was tired after the work out...and dosed off early ..

but it was great fun ..will try to do some more 'brick sessions' like these once a week

what else have i done...a 3 k run and then another 3k run ..the garmin foot pod's batteries run out ..so hav'nt been measuring distance on the indoor runs lately ..

will need to get that sorted and probably buy a pack of batteries...

Tricolour for tri :introductory post

So about a year back ..I decided the time is up for racket games and community sports....its time to go solo.Just about then I learnt of some colleagues who were triathletes.Turned on by their age defying fitness, I decided to live up to the challenge.

Ive been going steady with my endeavours since then .There is a lot of gear to collect while you work on your fitness.Alot of small things which matter alot on race day .Slowly I am learning the ropes of the trade.

This blog is just an attempt at disciplining myself.It is to work as an honest diary ,something I can reflect on and appreciate in the years to come .

Today on the 11 th of may 09 ..i weigh 178 pounds...can run 3 k in 20 minutes...7 k in 1 hour 7 minutes...10k in 1 hour 34 minutes..

I run around 16 km a week .Short runs in the weekdays and long ones on weekends...

I can cycle 14 k in 42 minutes..and swim 1 k continuous in 26 minutes..

note the timings here are best times attained..and each one separately ..so theres a lot of scope for improvement...a lot of scope for training ...cheers lets get on with it ..
